Two men appeared at Hull Magistrates Court today (Monday 28 September) in connection with a road traffic collision that killed two men on the M62 at Goole on the 3 April 2018. The M62 motorway closed for over 18 hours following the collision.

A caravan transporter travelling westbound, crashed through the central reservation colliding with a black Lexus motor car travelling eastbound.

Both the driver and the front seat passenger of the Lexus, two men from the Manchester area, both sadly lost their lives as a result of the collision.

Following a lengthy and complex investigation by Humberside Police, the driver of the vehicle Mr Jack Beston, of Duncombe Drive, Driffield, has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

Mr Michael Holgate, of Munstead Way, Brough, has been charged with two counts of manslaughter through gross negligence, two counts of causing death whilst uninsured and one offence under the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Both men are due to appear at Hull Crown Court on Monday 26 October 2020.
