Hull – Man Detained In France After Attempted Murder Near Mount Pleasant

A 19-year-old man has been detained by French officers in Paris in connection with a suspected attempted murder in Hull last night.

Humberside Police received a number of reports around 4.30pm on Wednesday 12 December that a 43-year-old man riding a bicycle had been seriously hurt near the retail park on Mount Pleasant.

It was alleged he’d been run over by a car.

Still Receiving Treatment

The victim is still receiving treatment in hospital for chest injuries. His injuries are serious but not thought to be life threatening.

Following the police’s initial investigations they received information that a suspect had boarded a train to Paris. He was picked up at the other end by the French police service.

The man will be brought back in due course to be questioned by Humberside Police detectives.

Appeal

Police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident to come forward.
