Match Report: East Yorkshire Carnegie 7 – 0 Harworth Colliery

Match Report

NCEL division one team East Yorkshire Carnegie hit Harworth Colliery for seven at Dunswell Park.

First Half

On 10 minutes Harrison Foulkes saved a penalty which got Carnegie into gear. Two minutes later Josh Walker slotted under the keeper to give the hosts the lead.

It wasn’t until the 32nd minute when Carnegie scored again when Tom Bennett sprinted down the wing and crossed to Walker who slotted under the keeper and through the defenders legs.

On 39 Paul Wray was on the end of a deep cross and volleyed into the roof of the net from the angle.

Two minutes before halftime Jonny Ricardo leapt highest and scored a bullet header direct from a corner.

Second Half

In the 2nd half the away team started brightly but failed to capitalise on any of their early ventures forward. Carnegie had a few attacks of their own and eventually got their reward when Josh Walker once again squeezed the ball between the keeper and his near post on 72.

Little under 10 minutes later midfielder Ryan Williams skilfully made himself a few yards and curled a powerful strike right into the postage stamp.

Straight from kick off Carnegie won the ball back and a quick counter attack lead to Tom Bennett bagging one for himself with a powerful drive from 8 yards out to complete the rout.
