Bridlington Town have announced the completion of five new players ahead of the next NCEL Premier Division season.
Some familiar names will be joining Town in their promotion push this coming season. A familiar name to Hull City fans will be Nathan Doyle. Doyle was a member of the squad winning Hull’s first promotion to the Premier League.
A Big Season
With the new signings also comes a big season for some of Town’s younger players. They’ll have to show they can play at the same high standard as the new signings to cement their places. Town manager Curtis Woodhouse called on Lewis Dennison, Archie Brown, James Faulkner, and James Williamson to step up their game next season. He told the club website:
Lewis winning young player of the year after some really good consistent performances and James Williamson had become one of the first names on the team sheet.
Both Archie Brown and James Faulkner showed they are good enough for this level, both Bridlington lads with a renewed dedication and desire but they need to go from being good enough for the level to excelling at the level.
I’m looking forward to seeing how all 4 develop over the season and bringing in some quality and experience around them will only help them progress.
Modest and McKenzie Join Town
Yesterday Nathan Modest and Shaq McKenzie joined Town. They join Nathan Doyle, Mike Thomson, and Danny Stimpson in Town’s promotion push.
Modest brings experience and pace to Town’s attacking options, and will help take the burden off Jake Day to bag all of Town’s goals.
McKenzie also gives Woodhouse more options up front. It will also mean, should Town go through another season with injury worries, there’s plenty of backup available.
Two More Incoming
If five new faces at Town wasn’t enough there will be two more new faces to join in the coming weeks. The names of the two players are still being kept under wraps until they’re completed, though.
