Hull.Today Football Roundup – 28th April 2018

Football Roundup

Apologies for the lack of football roundups the past few weeks. We’re still trying to get this thing going and as you may or may not know we’re short on staff! So without further ado here’s our roundup of all (we apologise if we miss any) the weekend’s football from Hull and East Yorkshire!

Bridlington Town 1 – 3 Pickering Town

Bridlington Town AFC

The Seasiders faced a strong Pickering side in the local darby. Unfortunately Town could not complete the season on a high-note. The full match report can be found here.

Hall Road Rangers 2 – 1 Thackley

Hall Road Rangers

Hall Road secured a second season in the NCEL Premier Division after a string of impressive results. Safety was guaranteed after an excellent win over Thackley. You can read the full match report here.

Hull City 0 – 2 Cardiff

Hull City AFC

The final home game of the Championship season didn’t go as planned, and Cardiff’s promotion hopes remain intact after a lackluster Hull performance. A noted absence of Abel Hernandez so close to the end of the season summed up the atmosphere going into the game.

Cardiff dominated the majority of the game, with real chances coming few and far between for Hull. After 14 goals in the past 4 games Hull fell flat in the final third.

Thankfully the result was not important in the Championship survival race.

Hull finish the season away at Brentford on Sunday and will be hoping to end the season on a high note.

With many players’ contracts due to expire, and no sign of renewals for many, this could be final appearances for many players in Black and Amber.
