Hull’s latest, purpose-built, venue has announced the first set of many events being held.
Currently nearing the final stages of construction, Hull Venue is a purpose-built state of the art venue with a capacity of up to 3,500. After months of anticipation the first announcements were finally made.
This morning’s announcement was followed by a surprise announcement this evening! So without further ado, these are the first announced events at Hull Venue.
The League Of Gentlemen Live – 4th September
Making his return home to Hull is Reece Shearsmith. He’s bringing along the live arena show of cult TV series The League Of Gentlemen with him!
The League of Gentlemen return to the stage in 2018 for their first UK tour in over 12 years. With a brand-new performance, crowds will get to see BAFTA winning comedy legends at their finest. Boasting the combined talents of Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss, Jeremy Dyson, and many more, this show is sure to entertain.
See the return of this classic, critically acclaimed, black comedy set in the fictional village of Royston Vasey. Running from 1999 to 2002, this series grew a cult following on BBC2.

Queen Extravaganza – 28th October
Described by Roger Taylor himself as ‘a rock celebration in the Royal tradition’ and designed to enable new fans together with fans of old to celebrate the music of Queen. A band, handpicked by Roger Taylor and Bryan May, will play shows across England and Scotland. Beginning at the end of October 2018 in Edinburgh the tour will be winding up in London on the 22nd of November.
The 2018 shows will be billed as the ‘Queen’s Greatest Hits Tour’ with the promise to deliver all the hits any Queen fan could want to hear. Legendary songs will include “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Another One Bites the Dust”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, and “Under Pressure”.
Tickets for the Queen Extravaganza go on sale on Friday morning at 9am!
Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary In Concert – 1st December
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary, yes really, 25 years, of Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park the film will be brought to life in concert. Accompanied by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra the film will be shown in full.
Throughout the showing, musical numbers from the film will be performed by a live orchestra, and will truly bring the film to life (no pun intended!).
Strictly Come Dancing: The Professionals – 19th May 2019
The Professionals will visit Hull Venue in Spring 2019.
Direct from BBC One’s award-winning prime time TV show Strictly Come Dancing, this glamorous production will bring together some of our much-loved Strictly Professional dancers as they take to the stage to dazzle with their dance prowess.
Audiences will enjoy the incredible talent of these world-class dancers as they perform exquisitely choreographed Ballroom and Latin routines with all the sequins, sparkle and stunning production values we have come to know and love!
Tickets are on sale this Thursday at 10am!
