Born Into A City Of Culture

Throughout the City of Culture celebrations the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been inviting parents of babies born in 2017 to take part in an exciting art piece.

Parents of babies born in 2017 were invited to take part in the piece, comprised of handprints from midwives and midwifery assistants, and footprints from newborns.

Panels of the artwork are found in the foyer of Hull Women and Children’s Hospital.

Born Into A City of Culture is the brainchild of community midwife Sallie Ward. Sallie said:

We’re really proud to have played a part in Hull’s year as City of Culture and the families have all contributed to a lasting piece of art which will be viewed for years to come.

It is something we can all look back on with pride and we wanted to end the project on a high note by holding this event to say thank you to the families
