Match Preview – Bridlington Town vs Hall Road Rangers 13/01/18 3pm

Match Preview

This Saturday Bridlington Town take on Hall Road Rangers at the Hudgell Solicitors Stadium. Kickoff is 3pm but be sure to arrive early to enjoy the atmosphere of this NCEFL derby day!

Bridlington Town

Bridlington come into this game on the back of a tough defeat away at Parkgate. After dominating the first half of the match and leading the game thanks to two goals from Jake Day, the second half proved a disaster. Usually Brid Town start the first half rather quietly, showing composure and finding ways to exploit their opponents. Against Parkgate, however, they seemed to start brightly but fade in the second half. Parkgate came back with a vengeance in the second half to claim only their 4th win of the season.

The Visitors

Hall Road Rangers come into the game against local rivals Brid Town after a string of frustrating losses. Having only claimed one clean-sheet this season, against Worksop at the start of November, manager Bill Gill will be looking to steady the ship.

After a thrilling end to the last season, leading to Hall Road Rangers being promoted as champions, they started the season brightly (excluding the first match, which was against Brid Town). Hall Road will be looking to set the record straight after Brett Agnew’s goals sent them to their first loss of the season.

Conceding 14 goals in the last 5 games, and scoring only 5 in the process, Hall Road will need to make changes. With Brid Town keeper Phil Dobson returning to Hall Road, experience may be the option.

Predictions

With rivalry bragging rights and a climb up the table there’s a lot to play for. A win could see Brid Town move up to 8th. A win for Hall Road Rangers could push them closer to safety at 14th.

We’re predicting a slow start to the game, while both teams settle. However the second half should provide a few goals.

We’re expecting 2-1 to Brid, with a late resurgence from Hall Road Rangers.

Match Day

The match will kick off at 3pm. However, the Seasiders Bar will be open an hour before the game. With the clubs being located so close to each other there’s likely to be a big crowd, so getting there early is essential (especially for parking!).

Tickets are £6 adults, £3 concessions. The award-winning match-day programmes is always worth getting at a bargain £1.50.

With the weather predicted to be pretty chilly it could be worth getting a scarf from the club shop as you go in. All money made helps support the club, so please help support your local team!
