Hull – Police Appeal Following Christmas Day Robbery On Elderly Man

Humberside Police released a statement saying:

Two men have been charged in connection with a robbery on Greenwood Avenue on 25 December 2017.

29-year-old Jon Barrett from Knightscourt in Hull, and 31-year-old Scott Barrett from Knightscourt in Hull have both been charged with theft from a person.

They are due to appear at Hull Magistrates Court this morning 29/12/17.

Police have requested that the public are mindful of any comments made on social media as it can affect the ongoing case.

Christmas Day Robbery

Humberside Police today issued an appeal for witnesses following a Christmas Day robbery. An 89 year old man was drawing money from a supermarket cash machine when he was approached by two youths. The incident occurred at around 9:30am at the Sainsbury’s on Greenwood Avenue in the town.

An 89 year old was sat in his mobility scooter when the two male youths approached on bikes. The youths took a quantity of cash from the elderly man.

Luckily the elderly man was not injured during the robbery.

Suspect Descriptions

The victim has described the two youths as being white and in their late teens. One of the youths was wearing dark blue clothing and riding a lime green mountain bike. The second youth has been described as wearing a green khaki coat and blue jogging bottoms. He was riding a silver mountain bike.
