A new investment into the Hornsea coast has been announced. £3.77m has been allocated to Hornsea to regenerate the Southern Promenade.
The funds will be used to develop a new boating compound to help bolster Hornsea’s future in the fishing industry, and fund the construction of a new Visitor’s Centre.
The Visitor’s Centre will also house a cafe, which should offer some excellent views of the Hornsea beach and sea, especially in the summer months.
Hornsea Mayor, Lee Walton, tells us:
“This is really exciting news for Hornsea! Residents and visitors have long complained that the Southern Promenade needed investment, and this new development, coupled with the plans being developed by our Coastal Community Team, should see the Southern Promenade revitalised and rejuvenated! Exciting times!
I’d like to thank all of those involved, including our ERYC ward councillors Cllr Barbara Jefferson & Cllr John Whittle, the Hornsea Area Regeneration Partnership (HARP), and local MPs Graham Stuart & Andrew Percy.”
We look forward to seeing the progress of this new development and are pleased to see such investments made into the town to help secure its future.
